Here’s How The List Works

We all love to “click”! Now you can discover rural Ontario with just a few clicks.  Start by choosing a region of Ontario, when you hover over each region it will show you the towns where Ruralist destinations are featured.  Pretty neat huh!

Once you have clicked your region, you will find a new page that allows you to choose from nine different types of destinations.  If you click “Dine” you’ll get our favourite bars, pubs and restaurants.  If you click “Food and Drink” you’ll find the most incredible food producers and retailers.  Yes, some places will be on the list in multiple places, such as Inns, which may be listed in Stay, Spas and Dine.

Once you click on a category you will get a series of beautiful little interactive mini-sites.  Each of the mini-sites will be jam packed with clickable links to retail shopping, Ruralist stories, directions on google maps and links to email and other relevant websites.   With all of this on one handy page, you’ll be able to do everything you need online or in person with total convenience.  There’s nothing stopping you from enjoying rural Ontario now.

And the best part – you can share it all!  We know you will want to tell your friends about the amazing place you purchased those cool new sunglasses or picked up that gorgeous necklace, you can copy the Ruralist link and post it to your favourite social media.

And that’s not all – seriously, it gets even better!  Once we have inspired you with delightful destinations in rural Ontario, you’re going to want to come and visit.  So clicking on our “shhh…don’t tell” pages will help you plan your trip.  We’ll fill you in on all the best things to do in each of our Ruralist destinations.  We are sharing the things that you NEED to know if you want to maximize your enjoyment of rural communities – the best places to have a picnic, most scenic drives, signature local food and other things you won’t want to miss.
