My husband is crazy about Ontario microbrew beer. He loves visiting breweries, discovering new flavours and collecting beer glasses. His glassware collection is quite extensive and seems to be taking over more and more of our cabinetry. In his defence though, I do understand that having the right glass to go with your beer really enhances the enjoyment of the beverage.
On a recent visit to Marten Arts in Bayfield I found these hand blown beer glasses made by Artech Studios in Tory Hill, near Haliburton. I knew Dennis would love them. Upcycled from original bottles, these unique beer glasses are reformed at 2150°F using traditional glassblowing techniques. Each one-of-a-kind , dishwasher-safe glass holds a full beer. This is a perfect birthday or Father’s Day present for the man who has everything.
I love the idea of giving a gift that reflects both beauty and environmentally conscious work. Artech reuses bottles destined for landfill and turns them into unique drinking glasses and decanters. Practicality and sustainability are always in style, and the fact that Artech recycles glass bottles from several of my husband’s favorite Ontario breweries makes them a perfect choice.
