{Get} Mother’s Day Gift Shopping in Grand Bend

Mothers are special ladies, so they deserve a special gift on Mother’s Day. Grand Bend is home to three of my favourite shops, where they stock unique and thoughtful gifts that are perfect for moms.  Here is a little preview of what I found, but you may want to stop in yourself and have a look at their inventory: my iPhone couldn’t begin to capture all the great things they offer.

The Garden Gate

The Garden Gate is a pretty little shop owned by the delightful Shannon Ryan.  A talented florist and wonderful merchandiser, Shannon has an amazing eye for selecting beautiful linens, artwork and giftware.  She is a wonderfully warm person who goes over and above to please her customers.

From helping me choose just the right thing to wrapping up my gifts, Shannon was a pleasure to do business with.  If you want unique and creative floral arrangements, go see Shannon.  She has fantastic floral styling talents: you’ll be very impressed!

Foodies

With artisan cheeses, specialty teas, gourmet sauces and delectable candy, it was really hard to choose what to buy in Foodies, a sweet little gourmet food store.  Owner Chris Burgess knew all the back stories of her products (which I loved!), so that made it even harder to decide.

Foodies carries an amazing selection of Ontario-made products, such as dressings and sauces from The Garlic Box in Hensall, nut butters from Hawberry Farms on Manitoulin Island and candy from Brittles ‘n More in St. Jacobs.  On my way to the cash register I noticed a little display of handmade soaps that smelled like heaven.  Anything that says “Relaxation Foot Scrub Soap” on it is perfect for moms, plus it’s made in Ontario too!

Forever Furniture

I had to pull my car off Hwy. 21 to admire the rainbow of Muskoka (Adirondack) chairs lined up across the front of Forever Furniture.  I love these chairs because they are beautiful, weather-proof and made from recycled plastic.  The one shown  below has a footstool that transforms it into a lounger, which is also perfect for moms.  When I took this photo, I was picturing myself reclining with a good book and a glass of wine.

Inside the store, I admired the great selection of home accessories. These tall glass vases would look great on my sofa table.  When you go to Forever Furniture be sure to ask for Elaine: she will ensure you get exactly what you want.  Regardless of what I’m looking for, whether it’s from a magazine clipping or a sketch on the back of a napkin, Elaine always helps me find it.
